The event intertwined with the announcement of Black Caviar's retirement from racing, so lucky racegoers were treated to a final parade of the great legend of horse racing.
As always, the fashion is almost as important as the races themselves and what a show some of the men and women in the exclusive Pink Ribbon Bar put on. There were some wonderful outfits on display from both sexes (however, sadly some hadn't distinguished between races attire and nightclub attire) and the main trend of the day was obliviously pink, as well a lot of lace and mid-calf length dresses which ooze both style and elegance.
The 'Best Dressed' women finalists wait for the result.
And the winner was the lady in the bright pink lace dress. One of my personal favourites of the day was the finalist in the stunning white lace peplum dress.
This my gorgeous friend/photographer Alex. She made her amazing headpiece herself - I like to refer to her as Ms Del Rey when she's wearing it. You can visit her here.
Not one to regularly wear pink, I bought my dress at the end of last year for an engagement party and have since fallen in love with the bright colour. The sun was shining but there was a chill breeze so a jacket was needed to finish the look for the day.
