Kathryn Beker.

If you've read my blog in the last couple of weeks, you will know of this extraordinarily talented woman - perhaps not by name, in honesty nor did I, but Kathryn Beker is the woman behind Mimco's fabulous plastic coats and skirts as featured in the Mimco Trunk Show for LMFF.

The trench coats are fast becoming the Mimco's most covetable piece for the season - despite not being a Mimco-made production exactly (although these one-off pieces were made exclusively in a collaboration between Mimco and KB).

But beyond the transparent materials at Beker HQ lies an array of soft fabrics, sequins and feathers with the most fitting 1920's inspiration oozing through.

I'm a complete romantic when it comes to the 20's. I always love the 1960 decade but there is something ultimately glamourous behind the frills and spills of the 1920's.

From a series of emails, the woman behind her namesake collection seems just as lovely as her collection and while I wasn't asked to promote her work, it's rare these days for a designers work to grab my eye so much. I tell you, it's love indeed.

Enjoy this eye candy but don't blame me if your credit cards take a beating.
Stay tuned for Kathryn's 2nd 2011 season in April!
